TL;DR: Awesome food and generous portions, but it's a little out of the way. Dang this place awesome! Too bad it's so Far away... Food: The food here is fresh, and when I say fresh I'm not talking like the make it every morning before they open. I'm sure some of the food is premade, but the salsa and guacamole were made when I ordered it. The salsa was fresh, vibrant, and tasty. If you go to places in Sacramento, you may see Pico with a dull red tone. The tomatoes here were like YELP red. I first looked at it and thought, "WTH? I've never seen anything like this before." Large salsa (like a 32 oz cup) was like $6-7ish and was plenty for a family of 4. The medium Salsa Runs $11ish for a Large and $6ish for a medium. The owner told me the chips are baked, so that's better than being deep fried. Breakfast burrito was very good. They can make it where you get a combination of all the meat. It contains, rice, potatoes, beans, egg, and the meat you choose. Normally I don't like potatoes, and beans at the same time, but in this burrito they actually worked. There are various textures/flavors it's worth it. The chili Verde ranks number 1 or 2 for the best chili Verde I've ever eaten. (if you have any suggestions please hit me up). You can get it as a burrito or plate (choice of flour or wheat tortillas). I might suggest getting the chili releno plus because the plus is a Chili releno topped with Chili Colorado or Verde. My only issue is that this place is kind of out of the way, but from my eats I've usually noticed that the farther you are away from the city, the better the Mexican food. This place is close enough where it calls me like a siren to a sailor, but I have to use my willpower not to go. They also do catering (did not inquire about the prices/size for catering) Service was great. I walked in and was greeted with a friendly smile.

I really like this place!!! Too bad its out of the way for me. Will have to stop by next time i go to Marysville Fleamarket. Found this place thanks to fellow yelpers and ordered the open face chile relleno with pork. So so good! You won't be disappointed. I think me and the bf probably could have shared one but it was nice to have the leftovers for lunch the next day. Don't let this place fool you, it doesn't look like much when you first walk in but I recommend you eat on the patio.

Not impressed. Ordered combo plate tamale was dry....old, enchilada blah. Ambience is part store, part ...just park your seat and eat. No wait service, order at counter.

  • RANDY L.

This place is a good eat, we kind of stumbled on this place while in town and too me and my girl surprise we ordered the Chile relleno burrito and we were both satisfied defiantly worth the money

  • R T.

Great service and wonderful people, family owned and run. They always greet you with a smile and get you whatever you need to be happy! Try anything w/ chile verde or chile colorado...or the adobada. The salsa is killer, and the food is consistently wonderful, the same as it was 20 years ago! Truly one of the best Mexican restaurants in Yuba Sutter & Marysville.

  • Pauline M.

Went here to have some tacos, was not impressed at all. The tacos are a nice size but no flavor very bland. They staff was kinda rude, I feel like we got over charged they didn't give us a receipt and no prices anywhere so you're surprised when you go to pay. I'm not coming here again I will go down the street to Jalisciense they have awesome tacos

    (2)
  • Matt V.

The chili verde here is the best I've ever had in my entire life! A bit pricier than what I would usually pay for my mexican food but I will keep coming back for that amazing green chili sauce.

    (4)
  • Brady S.

This place is so awesome! You gotta try the Chili Relleno Burrito with half green sauce and half red sauce.

    (5)
  • Leonard A.

I had to try out the food at this quaint little place with such high rating of 4.5 stars. For service, I'll give it 5 stars. The lady at the order counter was nice and friendly. Sadly, my experience with the food was just okay. I ordered Chile Relleno with rice and beans, and I was not amazed. I've had better elsewhere. Thus, for food I'll give it 2 stars, but I'll rate my experience with 3 stars overall. This rating is based on one visit and subject to change.

  • Christine W.

The chile relleno burrito with chile verde on top is outstanding! It is a little hole in the wall place with a modest menu and part mini mart..but it is a gem!! One of our new best eats!

    (5)
  • Elizabeth P.

The patio is simple and clean The staff is very friendly. Everything made in house, and also has a Mexican grocery store on the side. Kinda a dark neiborhood but it was very quiet. Some of the best chips and salsa. Food is great. This is a very casual atmosphere.

    (4)
  • Jerry W.

Simply put, the best Mexican food in a town full of Mexican restaurants. Their chile verde is excellent and they make it in a giant wet burrito that's a killer! Plan to take home a bag of their homemade tortilla chips!

    (5)
  • Sherri W.

Excellent food and exceptional service! Brought freshman baseball boys here after a double header and we all loved it. Chili Verde and Carne asada were great!

    (5)
  • Michelle S.

We came for this chile relleno burrito, based on all the Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. We haven't found a good Chile relleno within a 50-mile radius of Sacramento, until today. Not too much egg, LOTS of cheese. Meat in the chile verde is tasty and tender. This is a must check out.

  • Stan W.

I rate Mexican restaurants on chili verde and this place is the best around. I've been coming here for years and never had a problem with food or service. This is a little dive so don't plan on a romantic dinner just a fantastic lunch.

    (5)
  • Olga F.

Amazing and most authentic food ever. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommended!!

This is an awesome place if you're looking for authentic, home style food. The owners and staff are all nice and attentive.

  • Eric O.

If you want fine Mexican dining to impress a date, better go someplace else. But if you just want a great lunch served quickly with the absolute BEST chips and salsa on planet Earth, go here. A small family-owned business, I was coming here 25 years ago on lunch breaks in high school. We now live about 15 miles away and still come by at least once a month for lunch. It ain't a fancy place, but the food is great, the prices fair, and the service good.

    (5)
  • Garrett A.

Amazing Mexican food! Some of the best hole-in-the-wall food I've ever had. The chili relleno burrito is so good it's stupid. An open burrito that you can add something like chili verde to. Getting in for the first time is awkward as you stare at the menu that is above the window to take orders which is also the kitchen. Just order and find a seat and be prepared for great food!

    (5)
  • Jen W.

Love love love this place!! Everytime we eat here we're NEVER disappointed. And last Christmas my husband decided last minute he want tamales for christmas. We called Antonios, they were extremely rude, called La superior, laughable! So we called tortilla flores the lady on the phone was so sweet. We got the tamales t he next day on Christmas eve. Omg they were so good!! This is our spot from now on! Keep up the good work!

    (5)
  • Gary T.

It has always been good if you get the right things like the chile relleno burrito extra or the breakfast burrito combo with relleno sauce too bad they have both gone up in price. Excellent chips and salsa stay away from the chimichanga or the taco salad disappointing

I live in the Bay Area and was in town for a class. I used Yelp to find this place. I am very critical about Mexican food. To me it is a world class cuisine and serving it substandard is a crime. Period. I actually walked around the building until I figured out it was through the grocery store. In short, I would drive here for the food despite the distance. I ordered a super burrito. It came open faced, I have never seen that before. AWESOME!!!! Go for the super hot sauce. Being a total pig I also ordered the Chile relleno. As near as I can tell, the sauce was green sauce heavy with cumin. If anyone knows the secret I would love to know the ingredients. This place knocks it out of the park. THIS IS WHAT MEXICAN FOOD IS SUPPOSED TO BE!!!!

    (5)
  • Adam G.

Service was excellent, the ladies were so polite. Chips and salsa were as everyone else described, delicious! The Chile Relleno burrito was amazing! Took a bit of work to get the burrito to close though. Would recommend this place to everyone!

  • Jo K.

This is a perfect example of "don't judge a book by its cover". The food is fabulous in this Mexican Store/Restaurant. Service is good, kitchen staff friendly. Best chile verde I've had in awhile. My BF had the chile Colorado. We'll be back next time we pass through Yuba City. Worth the mile drive off the highway.

    (5)
  • Ben M.

So nicely done. Its a local store and restaurant, its a whole in the wall. The enchiladas are great here, delicious rice and beans. The taco's on the other hand were beyond great, totally authentic. The chips and salsa alone are worth it, fresh salsa and crispy chips. They are really nice, the food service is fast and they have outdoor seating. I didn't get a burrito but I saw one someone else had, it was huge! For the area (Yuba City) I don't think you could do any better than this. And the price point is way low. Finding places like this is the reason I look to Yelp.

My dad and I always come here! AWESOME service and great food! It's definitely a must try :)

    (5)
  • Isaac J.

Love the food here! everything is pretty good :P and the hot salsa is really good.

    (5)
  • Trish G.

Authentic, unassuming and very tasty. We had the chicken tacos and posole. Both good! Friendly, attentive service. A bit out of the way (we were just passing through). We enjoyed eating outside too!

    (4)
  • G S.

I have been here a few times. The chicken taco was pretty good but nothing special. The chicken tamale was pretty food however it was more corn than meat. The chips and salsa were really good. The staff is really nice, food comes out piping hot :) The atmosphere is really nice as well. Will def give this place another go. Would recommend!

  • Catherine F.

This place has charm and some pretty good food. I've only had one "bad" experience here if you can call it that. The rice and beans tasted old on one occasion. On the dozens of other visits it's been perfect. Everything is fresh and hot and flavorful. Love the charm of the little convenience store tacked on to the side. We always grab a drink before ordering and an ice cream before leaving. Love the back patio seating. Definitely an honest and delicious local treasure!

    (5)
  • Race J.

Great food, Great service. Order the chicken fajitas no rice beans or tortillas. Thats a palio meal.

    (5)
  • Max H.

Best Mexican food in the area hands down. Also the worst located restaurant in the area but its worth it. Chili relleno burrito smothered with chili verde is the most intense flavor kick you'll receive at this place.

Found myself in Yuba City on the hottest weekend of the year. What was there to do, we asked the hotel clerk. Watch the airshow happening nearby - we could see it from the hotel parking lot he said. In 106 degrees?! I don't think so. I locked myself in the air-conditioned room and yelped instead. Found the 3 places w/ 4.5 star ratings in the area and opted for Mexican. First, yes, it's a hole in the wall. We probably wouldn't have stopped if it weren't for Yelp. We took our order to go. This review is for the FOOD. As other reviewers pointed out: generous portions, reasonable prices, and yummy food. The carnitas tamales w/ green sauce (tastes like chile verde) is a must have. We also got crispy tacos, enchiladas, rice, and beans. All were excellent. Staff was friendly and the one local man in there at the time we stopped by (4pm) said he's there everyday for the Mexican hot cocoa (or was it coffee?) either way it was way too hot to try one.

    (5)
  • Victor H.

Fresh-made chips and salsa! Great neighborhood restaurant serving down home-cooking authentic Mexican food!

    (5)
  • Kennitha B.

Great little hole in the wall place. Pico is awesome and the salsa is yum! Gave them a four because I asked for no cheese and they put some on the rice but overall very awesome!

    (4)
  • Lydia K.

We have been twice now. The first time we ate in and I got a super burrito. It was good, but not better than any other Mexican hole in the wall I have been to. The second time was for take out and I wasn't that hungry so I did not get the super burrito but instead got a carnitas burrito which came with meat, beans, rice and pico. Again it was average. My brother ordered the chili relleno super burrito with chili verde based on the recommendation by Christopher from Portland's Yelp review. HE LOVED IT! Next time he was in YC he wanted to go there again to get it. He was suprised it was open faced but it had to be because of all the sauce. I was also suprised at the prices which seemed a bit on the high side to me.

  • Sandra R.

never have been to los flores we were surprised to get a menue with no prices how were we to know they were posted somewhere on the wall ? never did see them ,the girl didnt even write the price on the ticket we had to be surprised when we went up to the cash register. and there lunch specials are as much as a dinner price some where else.I had enchiladas just beef in the shell no spice or flavor needed more sauce on them. friend had a tamale okay. probly wont go back

  • nasdaq y.

Okay I came back for another lunch outing and was charged more then last time though it was basically the same meals. While paying I noticed the cashier charge for the meals, which were $8.69 and them mysteriously charge $1.25 for something. I always thought the drinks were included with the lunch specials. At least that was told to me the first time I came here. I will have to watch the cashier next time and mention these phantom charges. So watch out for the older, short Hispanic woman or you will charged extra for who knows what. Maybe it was the tip added automatically or extra pocket money for the cashier LOL

  • Edith S.

All these people scaring you about the outside of the place must be comparing this place to a 5 Star restaurant, which clearly was never meant to be. This is a pretty darn good Mexican Eatery, take it from a born and raised Mexican. Their tacos are the real deal, the enchiladas too, but if you really want a sensorial trip to Mexico get the Pozole (soup) it is one of the best I've had in my whole life! Oh and don't forget the chips, which I can't stop eating even without any salsa around lol. The neighborhood may not be the best, but I never felt threatened in any way, Tortilleria Flores has nothing unsafe about it, just people minding their business eating good food. I didn't see the cashier behind a caged window or nothing like that, so relax y'all!!

  • Lois B.

Traveling back to Bay Area from Bullards Bar Reservoir with hungry high school students, we found this place on Yelp. WELL worth going out of our way! Some of the best burritos we've ever had. Fresh corn chips and fabulous guacamole! Very friendly and helpful staff.

    (5)
  • Jamie G.

Best chile relleno burrito that I've ever had. The carna asada tacos and cheese enchiladas are a favorite too. And don't even get me started on the CHIPS AND SALSA! Best you can get ANYWHERE! The chips taste almost baked.

    (5)
  • Chloe B.

Best chile verde in town! When I get in the mood for some good chile verde I always come here. The staff is always friendly, great prices and good portions. This is definitely my favorite mexican place

  • Jeff M.

My daughter and I stopped in Yuba City yesterday to have lunch here based on the great reviews that I had read here, and we were NOT disappointed! The staff was Super friendly, attentive, and helpful. Since we had never been here before, it was taking us a minute to figure of the menu. She broke it down for us, and basically said they would make whatever we wanted, just tell them! We ended up with an entire of table of food, and our bill was only a tad over $20 dollars. The food portions here are HUGE, and EVERYTHING we ordered was excellent! And as others have mentioned, their salsa is amazing! If you are ever in Yuba City, and are graving the best mexican food you've ever eatin, you have got to stop here.

  • Dan M.

This place is awesome! Very unassuming. I wondered if we had the right place when we rolled up, but you don't get 4.5 stars with 45 reviews for nothing! If you want ultra authentic Mexican food then this is your jam! This place kicks TexMex food in the teeth! I got the burrito al pastor which is in the photo below. It is essentially Mexican barbecued steak. Lots of yummy spices that give it a bold flavor. The guy is very friendly and walks you through the menu if you are unsure what you want; there are a lot of options! He instructed us that we could grab a fourty if we wanted, awesome! I love negro modelo so that's what I rolled with. Burrito and beer cost me less than ten bucks! The pico is on point. You can't beat this place if you want the OG flavor and authentic experience. Apparently lots of people hit them up in the morning for their breakfast burritos. This place however unassuming is the real deal and I would certainly frequent it more often if I lived anywhere near here.

  • Nicole H.

Authentic, delicious, nice staff. They are a little pricey and the place is a bit run-down and easily crowded... but they really have some of the best chicken, beans, and marinated pork. SO GOOD! This is one of my favorite places as far and quality and taste of the food!

  • Mark D.

I went here based on a recommendation from a coworker. The place kind of threw me off at first as it is located in a mini-market. Around the corner, however, is a nice covered outdoor seating area. The food was delicious; especially the chips and salsa. Friendly, fast, attentive service as well. Glad I came and I'll be back.

    (5)
  • Allison B.

The location of this place may turn people away from eating here, but please don't let that stop you! I've been coming here since high school. It's part restaurant, part mini mart., more or less. There's a small parking lot, but also some street parking. The food portions here are HUGE, and everything has great prices! Not to mention very tasty. I can only get about half-way through my plate of nachos before I have to call it quits and get a to-go box. I swear I'm not a food wimp. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely check this place out if you're in/around Yuba.

    (5)
  • Cherise G.

2 carnita tamales = muy bueno!!! I happen to come across this place while driving through Yuba City and I'm sure glad I did. The tamales were larger then your typical tamale you would find at other Mexican markets. It was so full of meat, sauce, and the right amount of masa, making a masterpiece of a tamale if you ask me. You get the option to have chili colorado sauce over the tamales if you'd like (GREAT OPTION!). The chili colorado sauce is very authentic and perfect in flavor.... the sauce reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. Completely comforting.

  • Michael J.

We had the adobada tacos and carne asada nachos, both where very good. We will definitely be going back.

  • Basil R.

A Mexican grocery store and fabulous food-find all in one. It's small, friendly, and perfect when you're looking for great Mexican food at an unbelievably good price. The menu is extensive. Norma behind the counter was very knowledgeable about the food and helpful in every way. Tacos were loaded and delicious, chile relleno massive and filled with authentic Mexican cheese. Don't miss this place.

  • Courtney W.

I would have never stopped by this place by the looks from outside but thought I would give it a chance after reading the reviews on here. Once going in you are greeted by helpful and friendly staff. Great authentic flavorful Mexican food, the portions are HUGE and prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be going back again, you should check this place out if you are in the area.

My mom used to take me here when I was a little kid. I love the food and the people are always nice. The taquito's are awesome and the buche tacos are some of the best I have had.

Ate lunch last weekend with friends because of the great Yelp reviews. When we got there, I was happy to see the authentic Mexican Market/ eatery very much like I have repeatedly enjoyed in Mexico. I really wanted the food to be as good as my expectations, but unfortunately it was just average. The tamale I ordered was larger than most authentic ones I've had in Mexico, but the Masa was dry and hard, not soft and fluffy like it should be. The filling of pork was dry and under seasoned. Also the Chili Verdi topping was bland. I also ordered a Chili Relleno. It too had flaws. The filling was a canned green chili and loads of melted cheese, not a fresh Pablano found in the real thing. The egg batter was fine, but again the sauce was bland. I agree with other Yelp reviews about the salsa served on the table. I don't know how they do it but it was also lacking flavor and spice. Bottom line, the portions were large and the prices are reasonable. Even though the food is just average for Mexican, I would probably go back if I was hungry while in Yuba City, there just aren't many good eateries there.

I have been a patron of this establishment for many years. You cannot beat this mom n pop "hole in the wall" place. Their location is in ahidden part of Yuba City, but don't hesitate to EAT here! As you approach the store it is a combination mini-mart and restaurant in the back! You'll be pleasantly surprised to find the service excellent (even better than those large chain restaurants). Norma is my regular waitress and she is excellent. Always friendly and never forgets a beat when it comes to ordering. The food here is large portions. So come with a healthy appetite. You could order drinks from the vending soda fountains or just walk to the coolers and grab a soda, beer, etc. Their outside patio gives lots of shade and is a welcome setting for outdoor eating. I recommend you order the chili verde, fresh tamales, or even a burrito. This is authentic Mexican food not your "taco bell" types. You will NOT go wrong with any of the choices. BTW...you also get served chips and homemade salsa while waiting!!!

  • Kenneth S.

This is very good Mexican food. I never knew of this place until my wife said the food was great! It is some of the best Mexican food in Yuba City. I always get the carne asada burrito.

I totally forgot about this place (not sure why, I have been going to it for years) but I was thinking about good Mexican places to eat, and this place especciiiaallly takes the cake. It should be on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Back when they weren't popular, like, 10 years ago, NOBODY spoke any English. My mom and I were always looked at funny like we wandered in off the street and were trying to find our way home. Anyway, you just sound out to the best of your ability whatever you want to eat on the menu, and they make it for you. There is a quaint little patio area outside that is very comfortable and is good for a large group. The "servers" there (I am not sure if I should call them servers because they kind of are a jack of all trades, helping cook, ringing you up, even working in the little store that is connected... I think it's probably all family anyway...) are VERY nice, very helpful and bring out plenty of chips and salsa. The salsa... and the chips.... god, those are just in another dimension. I think they are from a planet, or maybe a universe far away where they only specialize in Mexican food. Then they are shipped at light speed on a spaceship and covertly hidden in the back of the restaurant. I love this place so much. I love how authentic and unassuming it is. It's just this little hole in the wall place, that you wouldn't really even know existed unless you were brought there by someone who was willing to change your life. The portions are HUGE.. I just get the delux burrito (whatever is in it I don't know, don't care, it's nom nom nom) and the taco salad. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG. Anything here is worth trying. Enchiladas... carne asada tacos.. mmm... whatever you want, you can haz it. Also my dad no longer buys his quarts of salsa at the grocery store, he just comes here.

After almost 5 years of eating here, I give Tortilleria Flores an unequivocal 5 star rating for quality, consistency, service and value. This is our go-to restaurant every single time we have visitors. Norma is the most convivial and efficient waitress on the planet. Her sunny personality makes for a great dining experience. Everyone from the owners to the cooks reflect a high level of customer care. The food? Ahhhhhhh...simply to die for. Their tortilla chips are so fresh, perfectly salted and deelish with house pico de gallo salsa. Massively delicious adobada burrito; taco salad loaded with goodies, quesadillas; enchiladas - EVERYTHING works well here. Stop reading this and just go there!

  • Kim M.

Great authentic yummy Mexican food. Awesome chile relleno...it's sooo good. Their chips and salsa are yummy...the environment is ok, but they do have a great outdoor patio for dining....love it!

  • Eliz H.

The Carne super burrito was so big they couldn't fold it; which was weird but after like 8-9 bites I was full and it folded down to a huge burrito to go. The salsa was flavorful and chips were hot. The service was exceptional and my kids loved their bean and cheese burritos(usually the beans are not flavorful enough).

Great food that is fast. Service is always good, I wish every place in town was like this.

    Favorite Mexican place in town!

  • Lisa B.

I grew up down the street from this little gem. The surroundings may intimidate you, but grab a seat on the patio, keep your eye on your car and enjoy the food. The prices are a bit higher than other taquerias, but the portions are large and the food is always delicious. Major plus, this family owned and ran establishment doubles as a grocery store. So if you care to try your hand at mastering Mexican recipes at home, enjoying a Mexican pastry, ice cream or candy...they are your go to shop.

I love going to this place for lunch for a break from work! I have been going here for years so the staff know what I want when I walk in the door. The staff is pretty much always friendly and the food is always great! Probably the best hole in the wall mexican place in Yuba City!

  • Sonja D.

I actually have went to this place for years but stopped going since we saw roaches crawling and a friend actually had roaches in their food. It's a shame because the food here is really good. They need to work on cleanliness.

The food here is some of the best in town. Pork Tamales covered in Chile Colorado, off da chain! The Tacos are good with great tortillas and the Nachos are a gut buster for sure. If you've never been here, get here and eat!

    (4)
  • Bryan B.

We had the Tamale deliciously covered with Chile Colorado and it lived up to the reviews. The free chips and salsa were very fresh and light. Overall this is a great hole in the wall, Mom and Pop with great friendly service. We had the huge burrito two tamales, a Corona Extra, and 1 liter Diet Coke for 19 bucks.

Get the chili relleno super burrito with chili verde, you will love it.

This place is fantastic! Great food, amazing super friendly service and core local vibe. We were on our way up north and blew through here via yelp's recommendation and were not disappointed. The chips were warm, the salsa was homemade and the whole meal was delicious and inexpensive. And tortillas are only $0.20!

Now that I've thought about it- I've never actually eaten here. BUT I come here solely for their homemade chips and fresh salsa and guac! MMMMMmmmmmm..... If anything- they have the best, most fresh chips 'n salsa!

Best authentic Mexican in the area. This is our go to place for when company is town, getting together with friends or when we are hungry at lunch on an average day.

Although I just joined yelp and have not had any other reviews, I wanted to start with an amazing down home family run place. It is a hidden gem. The owner, Jose, is an energetic person who is constantly on the move to take orders, make sure his customers have chips and dips, cleaning up, and so on. Although a true hole in the wall, the place was very clean. My husband and I came in because of the yelp reviews, and boy were they right. The food is so tasty, the service is quick, and the customers are plentiful and devoted. A father and son standing behind us gave us recommendations when we were figuring out what to order. When seated, they told us that they've been coming since the father was a boy. They said it was obvious that we were newbies and wanted to help. When the food came, the entire plate was covered. I'm working here for a couple of weeks, and I can't wait to come back.

I've been going to Tortilleria Flores since high school (late eighties/early nineties). Hands down the best authentic mex food in the area. The place is not the nicest, but it has always been clean, and the food great. I recently moved back to YC after been away for 8 years, and my wife and I went to TF for some good mex cooking, and had a couple of modelo's with it, it was great and came out to $15 for both. Good food and good value.

We have searched Tucson, Phoenix, Reno etc for a good Mexican Restaurant and this beats them all hands down. Friendly service, big portions, yummy food and, did I mention, yummy food? Lots of great choices too. It's not fancy and that is part of its charm. You basically go into this Mexican store, go to the counter, consult the menu on the wall, give your order and the two ladies make it all up right away. Take it away or eat on the shady picnic benches outside. buy a bag of freshly baked, melt in your mouth tortilla chips too. Fun.

Good chips and salsa. Good tortillas. Generous portions. But, still just average flavor.

This is a hole in the wall market that also sells incredible mexican food. It is authentic, and always very tasty. I usually order a taco salad, but I have had almost everything on the menu at one point. The chicken is cooked with chunks of potato, and although nothing is ever very spicy, their salsa fresca and guac are amazing! Overall, this is the one place in Yuba that I have to eat whenever I come home from college!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
